Skittle Art: In Progress!

For this project what we did is take expressive pictures, and then use photo shop to make them pixelated and the colors of skittles. Then we counted and measured and counted some more to cut out boxes, they were much larger then i expected. Now what were doing is glueing a skittle for each pixle in the picture. Its a LONG process but i think results are gonna be worth it.

Shadow Art

I really enjoyed this shadow art project that we did. It gave us the opportunity to be extrememly creative.
We started with a bunch of junk, a slide projector, and our imaginations. We had to pick a theme and use junk to make a shadow and show it.
Our group had some problems picking an idea of what to do.
We started with the idea of a park...
Then a big city at night..
And we finally decided on an underwater theme.

Since it took us so long to decide we really didnt have much time to make it very detailed. What we did was use a blue camelback waterbottle and put it in front of the slide projecter. We turned it on its side so we could have a water line and a boat. For the wave we bent a ruler and held it up. On the bottom we used random things to make coral and a starfish. If i could change one thing about this project i would give more time to plan and execute this project. But i really enjoyed doing this project.

Value Portrait

At first I thought I was really going to hate this project. I`m not the best drawer and i died a little inside when he introduced this project to us. But once he explained that we were not exactly drawing it but more so shading it i was okay. We took the black and white picutres of them and put tracing paper over it and traced all the shapes we saw, then transfered it to paper, not much drawing at all! Then we shaded them according to the picture. We also used this little paper tool to blend the shading together. I never really noticed how much effect shading can have on things untill now. This project was difficult at certain points but overall i was happy with the results and suprised with myself.

Masking Tape

My groups theme for our masking tape mural was sports. We each contributed something from our favorite sports. I did the hockey stick, the puck, and the megaphone, for hockey and cheerleading (the two best sports). We all got along very well and agreed on basically everything. I think this project was very succesful especially due to the fact that we had one day to practice on our tables and one day to start and finish it. Which was plenty of time. The hardest part of this project was making curved lines with the tape. Because obviously in sports utilities theres lots of different shapes and such, we had to make it work. Overall, i think our project turned out very well and i enjoyed it.
